Well as many of you know Paul loves picking the black raspberries and blackberries that grow near the house. I thought it would be fun to document some of the berry picking activity. Right now black raspberries are in season, in a few weeks they will be done and it will be time to pick blackberries.

As you can see I am as fashionable as ever decked out to pick berries. It is important to wear lose clothes when picking berries because you are going into thorny bushes.

Here is some of the bounty of the morning. We picked about 6 1/2 cups, this is 5 cups that I used to make a cobbler.

These are the same 5 cups, but I thought they looked very pretty in the colander with the water glistening on them......

Here is the finished cobbler. We normally just make jelly every year but I wanted to try something new. The cobbler was very easy to make and tasted pretty good. We had never actually eaten any of the berries, so it was a pleasant treat. Although Paul did complain about the seeds.
