Seed mania
Well this spring I have decided to try something new. Instead of buying plants and spending lots of money (who knew plants and flowers could be so expensive?) I have decided to order some seeds and try to start my own plants for the garden and flower beds.
A friend from work loaned me some seed catalogs to browse through and there were LOTS i wanted to order. You should be proud of me, I sketched out (badly) the flower beds and wrote down what type of light they get and then went trough the catalogs and as a found seeds I liked, kept track of where they could be planted!!! I was very practical.
I have had this list for a little over a month and it is finally time to order the seeds. I am even ordering this little gizmo that I can use to make containers out of old newspaper so I can just put the plant right into the ground without uprooting the seedling, and it is ecofriendly because the newspaper will biodegrade.
We still have to finalize the garden bed layouts, but I have time for that. Although I guess we need to figure out how big the 4 additional beds we are putting in will be, so I know how many plants I can use. Some of the plants like squash get huge and the peas and tomatoes vine all over the place. Oh, and I can't forget the pumpkins and gourds......
