Bedrooms

So, do you think men are naturally drawn to cooler colors? The husband and I are planning on redecorating our bedroom in a month or two. We are closing on the house soon and decided to celebrate by fixing the bedroom. Currently it has bright yellow walls, baby blue trim, and a country season border. Don't yell at me, the room was like that when we moved in. The rest of the house is very netural and we have decided to leave it alone for about a year.
We have compromised on the colors, a red for the walls and a brown for the trim. We are going to get some samples and paint a section of the wall to make sure we like it. This is so exciting for me, I usually have a lot of trouble envisioning something, but now I have visions dancing through my head (much to the husbands horror). I want him to make us a headboard that can mount on the wall to save a little floor space and really serve as a focal point of the room. I am also trying to figure out a way to creat a little seating area. The room is large but it is much longer than it is wide, which causes some problems with furniture placing.
I would really like to put up crown modling, but according to the husband the ceiling is slanted and that would be a bad idea. I asked him if he could fix that and he just looked at me!
