Berries

Well as many of you know Paul loves picking the black raspberries and blackberries that grow near the house. I thought it would be fun to document some of the berry picking activity. Right now black raspberries are in season, in a few weeks they will be done and it will be time to pick blackberries.
As you can see I am as fashionable as ever decked out to pick berries. It is important to wear lose clothes when picking berries because you are going into thorny bushes.

Here is some of the bounty of the morning. We picked about 6 1/2 cups, this is 5 cups that I used to make a cobbler.

These are the same 5 cups, but I thought they looked very pretty in the colander with the water glistening on them......
Here is the finished cobbler. We normally just make jelly every year but I wanted to try something new. The cobbler was very easy to make and tasted pretty good. We had never actually eaten any of the berries, so it was a pleasant treat. Although Paul did complain about the seeds.

Seeds? Sometimes there's just no pleasing Paul.

You have become quite the Farmer Jane. Those berries look wonderful. Although, I can't say much for your farming outfit. I don't think you'll make the cover of Glamour magazine anytime soon. You still have that Amish look going. I'd be careful with that. Pretty soon y'all will be trading in your autos for a horse and buggy.

Congrats on the lovely crops.

What an artistic berry shot! It looks good enough to be clip art... almost. I don't see what's so wrong with the farmer ted outfit. You should wear that to work. Maybe on the yearly employee evaluation day. That'll show them you're a hard worker cuz aren't farmers hard workers? If there weren't all their stuff would be dead.
