Visiting

Our niece Layla is visiting from Texas and we thought you all might like to see some photos.

She has helped out with the chickens. Here she is with one of the new chicks, they are about 5 days old and will be in the brooder in the garage for about 4 weeks.

Here she is helping me rangle the meat chickens up for the night.

She is putting the food in the laying hens coop.

Here we are waiting for the laying hens to make their way into the coop. It normally takes about 5 minutes.
One of the laying hens didn't want to go up so I had to chase it and put it up. Layla was a big help and manned the door to keep the other hens in while I was chasing the other one!

Here we are back in the garage with the baby chicks.

Layla was watching us feed the baby chicks.

Here she is doing a bit of reading with the cat Nozer keeping her company.

She really likes Jet-Li. He cuddles like a baby.

Jet-Li likes to look out the back window. He'll sit on your shoulder or as Layla found out your back!

Layla and Zach helped fix dinner, we had ginger soy chicken, roasted asparagus with mushrooms and rice. They were cleaning the veggies.

On Wednesday we all went to Cracker Barrel, Sam's Club and then Giant Eagle. They look really tired.

It looks and sounds like you all are having a great time. The chicken probably wasn't crazy about being on the dinner table. By the way, can y'all send us some rain?
