Stressful weekend

Well, I hope everybody's weekend went well. Ours did, but was a little stressfull. On Friday morning we awoke to find that there was 4 inches of standing water in our basement. It rained straight from Thrusday morning until Friday morning and then off and on all day Friday. I am very greatful for such a smart husband, he knew exactly what to do to get all the water out of the basement. It is still drying out, we borrowed a dehumidifier from my mom and hopefully the walls will be dry enough to patch up tonight.
Also on Friday I took Killer to the vet. We had a visit from the coyotes on Wednesday evening and Bear got very upset. So upset infact that he attacked Killer. The vet said this is called redirected agression. I was repremanded by the vet for not bringing Killer in on Thursday morning so they could stich him up. So I had to apply hot compresses to his wounds (3) and neosporan over the weekend. He had one of those nifty collars. I had to drop him off this morning for surgery to reopen the one chest wound (which is really gross looking) so they could stich him up. I was also told that he had gained 1.5 pounds since he was there a month and a half ago. I am sure he will weigh more today since he would only take his antibiotics with peanut butter!

patching walls sucks. and is expensive. here's hoping I did it right, at least well enough to not leak until we can afford more cement. I plan on adding cement onto the floor - enough to point the water towards the big whole where the sump pump is, and then seal up the walls with cement that is level/square to the floor to a height of 3 foot. One section at a time, I'm gonna make a mold. When I'm done we'll have a smaller basement, but that's okay. Gotta put in shelves for all the canning that VJ plans on doing over the next couple hundred years.

Man, it is a good thing she married such a handy man! At my house I'd either be responisible for doing all that or calling someone who could do it for me. It's okay though; I just tell my man he's pretty and that's why I keep him.

OH!... But of course V got both good looks and a handy man. I didn't mean to imply otherwise....
