Color...not as easy as one may think

Soooooo.................. We selected the color with the help of the color guided computer at home depot, it should have been perfect. But it wasn't. I sat staring at the paint on our wall, luckily it was only a small section, wondering why it wasn't as beautiful as I had picuted it in my head.
After some investigating I realized that the red we had selected has too much orange in it and not enough purple. So it will be back to home depot. Now we HAVE to paint the bedroom because it has yellow walls, baby blue trim, and a large patch of red on one wall! I am really striving for a merlot like color.
I have to give props to my husband Paul for his patience throughout this decorating adventure. He is very loving towards me and humors me and my choices a lot.

Yes, us husbands are just wonderful when it comes to patience. Your room sounds like an abstract painting right now or something out of the 60s with all the psychodelic colors. Cool, dude. I'm sure you guys will nail it after your next trip to the paint store. The wife and I have been mainly concentrating on the yard. We've planted lots of flowers and also some herbs...the legal kind...and some peppers. We are planning to make a small garden so we can grow more edible goodies. My advice to you both...paint naked, it makes the job a lot more fun.

Those computers are tricky man. You can't trust their simulated lighting conditions and don't foget the fact that the monitor probably isn't calibrated correctly. If you were only going off of that, there is no way you'd nail it the first time out. At least it gave you a starting out point so that you refine the color.
