Bad Librarian

So, I am a bad librarian. My dog, Addie, ate my library book. Don't laugh I am seriouse. Not only was it a library book, but an OhioLINK library book (another library in Ohio loaned it to me). So the replacement cost is $125, that's right onehundred twenty five big ones!!! I am going to talk to the OhioLINK person and see if I can buy a replacement copy instead. If not it will be the most expensive paperback book I've ever read.
What great dogs I have!! We even had a fence put up yesterday for them to run!!!!!

Aww that's not so bad. It was a complete accident. Now I am a bad library patron - a few months ago I found a library book. It wasn't damaged or anything but it was from when I was in college. We are talking the book was due in 1998!

The husband thought I should just throw it away / recycle it - but I just couldn't. I mean book sare special right?! After all I did get my first library card before I could really write my name - ya gotta respect the library books.

I mailed it back to the library even though I technically paid for it when I graduated since I couldn't get my diploma without paying all my fees. I also sent them a little note applogizing.

Bad patron.

I have a slightly worse story. I borrowed a book and had it out for over 6 months before returning it. I went to the library where they told me I still had it out and that I had over $20 in fees. I paid the fees, but argued that I did in fact return the book. I distinctly remembered dropping it in the return slot late one night after I got sick of looking at it. The librarian was very kind and marked the book 'returned' in the computer and said that maybe they misshelved it or something. THENNNnnnn I found the book 6 months after that. I felt so bad I threw it out.... Now that's a bad patron. I'd like to think I'd never do anything like that again.
