Blogs for educational use?

I have been doing a lot of reading on using blogs for educational purposes. I created a blog last week for the education students here at KSU, but so far am not sure exactly how I want to organize it. So this week I will be brainstorming some ideas. When I have a firmer idea set I will post a link to my new blog so you can look at it.
I have also created an aol im account, so the students can track me down whenever they need me. I am trying to make myself avaialbe to them. I'll let you know how this goes.
