Christmas Trees

This year we decided to get a live Christmas tree. (probably because our fake tree wouldn't fit in the moving truck so it is still in Texas). Since this was going to be Paul's first real experience in Ohio, we decided to go to a Christmas Tree Farm (the place where you walk through fields of trees, select one and cut it down yourself). We went the weekend after Thanksgiving. Paul help up really well, glad he had long johns! Why don't trees ever look as big in the field as they do in the house? Don't you just love the last picture of Paul? He has this look on his face, "what the **** am I doing out here in the cold chopping down a tree for?" He assured me he had a great time. A word of advice for any of you cutting down your own tree, make sure the tree you select only has one trunk. Ours came with two and it was great fun getting it to fit into the tree stand.

Oh the pictures of an unhappy Texan lost in the vast wilderness known as Ohio. He puts on a brave facade but whose thoughts are on Hooters, not of the flying variety found in the trees of Ohio, but on the smiling cuddly kind found in warm southern Texas. Hang in there Paul. I'll go and have some Mahi Mahi for the both of us.

Hmm...didn't anyone notice the second trunk when it was getting chopped down??? Did you have to use two stands?

No, we didn't think about it having a split trunk. We used one stand that we rigged with some extra wood and nails.
